OSN3500 AUX single board provides various management interfaces and auxiliary interfaces for the system, and provides centralized backup of +3.3V power supply for each single board of the subrack, and other functions and features. The single board consists of communication module, interface module and power module. There is a jumper switch J9 at the lower right of the single board, which is used to set the sub-shelf as the main sub-shelf or extended sub-shelf. The panel of the single board has single board indicators and various types of interfaces. The veneer can be plugged into slot 37 of the subrack. if an expansion subrack is included, the AUX veneer can also be plugged into slot 87 of the expansion subrack. the veneer indicators contain veneer dimensions, weight, and power consumption.
Single board add error caused by misconnection of the EXT interface of the AUX single board of two OptiX OSN3500 devices. This issue can be resolved by removing this cable.
Products
OptiX OSN 3500
Fault Category
- DCN Fault
- BD_STATUS
Phenomenon Description
Alarm BD_STATUS is reported intermittently on a SEP1 board on the OptiX OSN 3500, and all boards cannot be added after the data of the main control board is erased and reset. After taking other actions to add the boards, the alarm BD_STATUS on the original SEP1 board still exists, and the board type switches between PQ1 and SEP1, and the corresponding board type of slot 19 EU08 also switches between EU08 and D12S, and the empty slot 20 incorrectly shows that there is a D12S board plugged in.
Cause Analysis
It is possible that the data configuration of the master board is incorrect, or the inter-board communication is faulty.
Procedure
- Reset the master board after clearing the database. There is no reset record, and all the boards cannot be added successfully.
- After clearing the database again and resetting the master board at the site, add the boards again. At this point, the master board can be added, but other boards cannot be added.
- After all the boards are successfully added, the original SEP1 board still intermittently reports BD_STATUS alarms, and the board type switches between PQ1 and SEP1, and the corresponding board type of slot 19 EU08 switches between EU08 and D12S, and the empty slot 20 incorrectly shows that there is a D12S board plugged in.
- Swap the main control board with the expansion subrack corresponding to this network element (also OSN 3500), and repeat steps 1, 2, and 3, and the phenomenon remains the same.
- Check the cables at the site and find that there is a cable connection between the EXT ports of the two OSN 3500 devices, and the fault disappears after removing this cable.
Reference Information
Only if you configure the UXCSA with an expansion subrack, you need to connect the EXT ports of the main subrack and the expansion subrack. In this case, all the alarm and configuration information of the expansion subrack is transmitted to the master control board of the master subrack through the EXT port, and the expansion subrack does not need to be configured with a master control board and a crossover board.
In the case of using an unprotected chain tape expansion subrack, since the master subrack and the expansion subrack are two independent network elements, there is no need to connect the EXT ports. If the EXT ports are connected with cables at this time, conflicts will occur, resulting in failed or unsuccessful addition of single boards, or even board type switching changes.
