OSN3500 HSC_UNAVAIL Master and Standby Reversal Function Failure Alarm. With the standby board configured, this alarm is reported by the standby board when the master-standby reversal function cannot be completed. After this alarm is generated, the service may be interrupted if a master-standby cross-reversal occurs. When browsing alarms in the network management, select the alarm, and the alarm parameters are displayed in the "Alarm Details". The format of alarm parameters is "Alarm Parameters (hexadecimal): Parameter 1 Parameter 2...Parameter n". See the following table for the meaning of each parameter.
The following are possible reasons for the alarm HSC_UNAVAIL:
- Cause 1: The spare crossover board was hard reset for less than 5 minutes.
- Cause 2: The version of the master and standby cross-boards is inconsistent.
- Cause 3: The single-board host software version and hardware version do not match.
- Cause 4: Bad cross-board.
- Cause 5: Bad business board.
- Cause 6: Bad subrack backplane.
The OSN3500 SXCSA frequently plugs and unplugs the primary and backup crossover boards, and then inverts them again when the backup board is not functioning properly, which will result in a reset of all the boards. Therefore, you are not allowed to frequently plug and unplug the master and backup crossover boards or be careful to carry out the master and backup crossover inversion when the backup crossover board reports the HSC_UNAVAIL alarm, so as not to affect the service.

Fault category
- Protection reversal fault
- HSC_UNAVAIL
Phenomenon Description
When performing the crossboard master-standby inversion test, the crossboard is inverted from slot 9 to slot 10, and then plugging and unplugging slot 10, all the single boards are reset and cannot be inverted to the original state smoothly.
Cause Analysis
The standby board needs to synchronize part of the data from the main board when it first operates. During the test, before the 9-slot spare cross board is running normally, the 10-slot main cross board resets, and then all the single boards are synchronized, resulting in the reset of other single boards in the same subrack.
Procedure
- Wait for the single-board reset to complete.
Reference Information
If the standby crossover board is reset or unplugged from the primary crossover board without normal operation, it will cause all the veneer boards to be reset, so you cannot invert the XCS boards frequently.
To avoid the above, the standby XCS board reports the HSC_UNAVAIL alarm. This alarm does not necessarily mean that the cross-over master/standby inversion is affected, but is only used to remind the user not to hard reset the motherboard or plug in/out the veneer boards at this time, so as not to affect the service.
