Prerequisites

Procedure

1. Right-click in the main topology map and select "New > Connection". The "Add Object" dialog box pops up.
2. Select "Connection > Fiber" in the left pane.
3. Click in the "Source Network Element" and the mouse display will be "+".
4. Click the source network element of the cable in the main topology diagram, and in the pop-up dialog box of "Select Source of Fiber", select the source board and source port.
5. Click OK.
6. In the "Add Object" dialog box, click in the "Host Network Element", and the mouse display is "+".
7. Click the host network element of the fiber in the main topology map, and then select the host board and host port in the "Select Fiber Host" dialog box that pops up.

   
   

   Tip:

   If you make a mistake in selecting the source and host network elements, you can click the right mouse button and select "OK" in the pop-up "Object Selection" dialog box to exit the object selection.

   
   

8. Click "OK" and enter the corresponding properties of the cable in the pop-up "Add Object" dialog box.
9. Click OK.
   The created cables are displayed between the source and host network elements on the primary topology.
10. Select the fiber you just created, right-click it, and select "Link Inspection".
    The Result dialog box pops up showing the fiber and cable connection information.
