    1 SYNC 1/2

    2 external clock inputs and outputs, 120 Ω. Can be used for transparent transmission of DCC.

    The clock interface can also be used as a high-precision synchronous time 1pps interface.

    3 RST Reset Button. Press this button to soft reset the SCB veneer.

    Functions and Features Description
    Crossover Functions
    • High-order crossover capacity is 21.25G and low-order crossover capacity is 5G.
    • Supports VC-4/VC-3/VC-12 level cross-connections, which enables service scheduling between line-to-line, line-to-branch, and branch-to-branch.
    Line Function
    • Provides two STM-1/STM-4/STM-16 optical interfaces, and the optical interfaces support hot-swappable SFP optical modules.
    • The STM-1 optical interface is called OI2D, the STM-4 optical interface is called OI4D, and the STM-16 optical interface is called OI16D.
    • The optical interface of STM-16 provides S-16.1 type of optical modules, and the optical interface uses LC connectors.
    • The STM-4 optical interface provides S-4.1, L-4.1, and L-4.2 type optical modules, and the optical interface uses SC/LC connectors.

    Time Function

    • The external time interface of the SS49SCBVER.B supports the output of 1pps (also known as second pulse) and 1588 V2 time information. 1pps uses the TTL level form, and the external time serial interface uses the RS-232 level form.
    • The external time interface of the SS49SCBVER.E supports the input and output of 1pps (a.k.a. second pulses) and 1588 V2 time messages. 1pps and the external time serial port use the RS-422 level format.
    • The 1pps port is multiplexed with the external clock interface, and this external clock interface function is disabled when the 1pps function is enabled.
    • The external time serial port is multiplexed with the COM3 and COM4 transparent data ports, and the transparent data port function is disabled when the external time function is enabled.
    Master Control Function
    • Provides information exchange function with other single boards, realizes data configuration of the device, and collects performance and alarm data.
    • Provide standard Ethernet interface and RS-232 DTE (Data Terminal Equipments) interface for network management.
    Official Functions
    • Provide one way official telephone, support conference call and broadcast function.

    • Provides 4 RJ-45 RS-232 serial data interfaces to support point-to-multipoint device connection and transparent transmission of user data.
    • Provides 4 input and 2 output switching interfaces. The switching input interface is mainly used for monitoring the status of external devices, and the switching output interface is mainly used for outputting alarm instructions and controlling external devices.
    Other Functions
    • Provide performance detection, alarm detection and reporting functions.
    • Provides 18 channels of ECC (Embedded Control Channel).
    • The external clock interface can transparently transmit DCC (Data Communication Channel) bytes, which can be used for interoperating management information when OptiX 155/622H is mixed with third-party devices.

    The following panel diagram of the SCB single board is introduced as an example of the SC optical interface type of the SS49SCB VER.B, as shown in Figure 1.

    The panel of the SCB veneer board has a device status indicator, a network management interface indicator, a data port indicator, and an optical interface indicator, and the descriptions of the indicators are shown in Table 2.

    The Ethernet network management interface pin descriptions are shown in Table 4.

    COM2, ALM OUT1, and MODEM (F) interface pin descriptions are shown in Table 5.

    The optical interface on the SCB single board panel is an SC/LC type optical interface for sending and receiving TM-1/STM-4/STM-16S optical signals.


    The SCB single board integrates the main control SCC (System Control & Communication), crossover XC (Cross-Connect), clock STG (Synchronous Timing Generator), and official business EOW (Engineering Orderwire), STM-1/STM-4/STM-16 line (OI2D/OI4D/OI16D) and E1 branch (SP2D) units.

    The functions and features supported by the SCB single board are shown in Table 1.

    The SS46SCB does not support the 1588 V2 time feature, business phone, and transparent data port, while the IU3 slot does not support ECC communications.

    The SCB single board technical specifications include optical interface specifications, electrical interface specifications, single board size, weight and power consumption.

    SCB single board integrates line interface of STM-1/STM-4/STM-16 optical interface rate, STM-1 optical interface is called OI2D, STM-4 optical interface is called OI4D, and STM-16 optical interface is called OI16D.

    The SCB veneer board integrates 16 E1 electrical interfaces, and the E1 tributary veneer board is called SP2D. For the electrical interface specifications of the SP2D veneer board, please refer to the technical specifications.
