The OSN3500 J0_MM alarm indicates a tracking identifier mismatch. This alarm is reported when the circuit board finds that the actual J0 bytes received by the corresponding optical interface do not match the configured receivable J0 bytes (including byte format and value). the J0 bytes are used to repeatedly send the segment access point identifier so that the receiver can confirm that it is in a continuous connection state with the specified sender. When you view the alarm in the network management, select the alarm, and the related parameters of the alarm are displayed in the "Alarm Details". The format of the alarm parameters is "Alarm Parameters (hexadecimal): Parameter 1 Parameter 2...Parameter n".J1 is the high-order channel trace byte. Its function is that the transmitter continuously sends this byte, the high-order access point identifier, so that the receiver can confirm that it is continuously connected to the specified transmitter. The receiving end detects a J1 mismatch and the corresponding channel (VC-4) generates an HP_TIM alarm. Incorrect setting of J0 and J1 bytes results in setup failure. To set them correctly, the 16-byte mode rules for J0 and J1 bytes need to be met.
Description
The OptiX OSN 3500 connected to vendor C's equipment reports HP_TIM alarm. The engineer adjusts the receivable J1 byte and sendable J1 byte through T2000, but the adjustment fails and the system prompts "Invalid J1 value". The J1 byte set by the engineer is 00 B8 F5 17 12 EF 78 13 62 74 05 29 C1 6B.
Cause Analysis
ITU-T G.707 recommends that when J0 and J1 are in 16-byte mode, the highest bits of the first byte and the other bytes are 1 and 0. In addition, the other 7 bits of the first byte are generated by the CRC-7 calculation of the previous frame. The first byte of J0 and J1 must be set manually. The value "00 B8 F5 17 12 EF 78 13 62 74 05 29 C1 6B" does not comply with the recommended rules and is invalid.
References
The first byte is the parity bit and you need to make sure that the other bytes are less than 0x80.
The error codes for valid J0 and J1 are as follows:
- Valid J0 byte due, error code: 38718.
- Effective receivable J1 byte, error code: 38717.
- Effective transmit J0 byte, error code: 38677.
- Effective send J1 byte, error code: 38757.
