Metro1000 VCTRUNK port service interruption

Metro1000 test frames are data messages used to test the connectivity status of the SDH side network carrying Ethernet services. Test frames are mainly used for opening and debugging Ethernet services or locating Ethernet service faults. The test frame function follows Huawei's internal protocol standard and can only be sent and received between VCTRUNK ports. The same VCTRUNK of an Ethernet board can be bound to only one level of time slot. Phenomenon

  • An ALM_GFP_dLFD alarm is reported on the receiving end of the Ethernet single board, and the service is interrupted.
  • The VCAT_LOA alarm is reported on the receiving end of the Ethernet single board, and the service is interrupted.

Impact on the system

The service of the device is not available.

Possible Reasons

  • Cause 1: Failure of the single board to frame GFP frames causes service interruption.
  • Cause 2: When transmitting service data, the delay alignment of the virtual cascade is too long, and the time slots cannot form a data frame, so the service has packet loss, which leads to service interruption in severe cases.
  • Cause 3: VCTRUNK binding bandwidth inconsistency leads to service interruption.

Operation Procedure

  1. Cause 1: Failure of the single board to frame GFP frames causes service interruption.
    1. Query the current alarm on the T2000.


      If ...... then ......
      the network element reports the ALM_GFP_dLFD alarm. Continue to the next step.
      The network element did not report the ALM_GFP_dLFD alarm. Turn to other reasons.


    2. Refer to the Alarm Reference to handle the ALM_GFP_dLFD alarm.
    3. Check if the service is back to normal, if not, turn to other causes.
  2. Cause 2: When transmitting service data, the delay alignment of the virtual cascade is too long, and the time slots cannot form a data frame, so the service has packet loss, which leads to service interruption in severe cases.
    1. Query the current alarm on the T2000.


      If ...... then ......
      the network element reports the VCAT_LOA alarm. Continue to the next step.
      The network element did not report the VCAT_LOA alarm. Go to other reasons.


    2. Refer to the Alarm Reference to handle VCAT_LOA alarms.
    3. Check if the business is back to normal, if not, turn to other causes.
  3. Cause 3: VCTRUNK binding bandwidth inconsistency causes service interruption.
    1. Check the LCAS enable status of the VCTRUNK port on the T2000.


      If ...... then ......
      single-board VCTRUNK port LCAS is enabled. Turn other causes.
      Single-board VCTRUNK port LCAS disabled. Enable the LCAS function. Check whether the service is restored to normal, if not, refer to other reasons.
