Metro1000 When a network element transmits Ethernet services to the SDH side through the internal port of the Ethernet board (i.e., VCTRUNK ), it is necessary to configure various attributes of the VCTRUNK port in order to cooperate with the Ethernet veneer board of the counterpart network element to realize the transmission of Ethernet services in the SDH network. Generally, the Ethernet ports of the docking device are required to work in the same fixed operating mode. If the operating modes of the two ends do not match, packet loss or rate reduction will occur, and when the data volume is large, complete service interruption may also occur. The alarm group realizes the alarm function and completes the reporting of alarm events. It is necessary to provide alarm event settings and query, and the alarm settings include alarm reporting method, alarm upper/lower limit, sampling interval (s), and monitoring status enable/disable. This section describes the phenomenon of service interruption on a single Ethernet port, the impact on the system, the possible causes, the tools required for troubleshooting, precautions, and processing steps.
Failure Phenomenon
A single Ethernet port service on the Ethernet single board is interrupted.
Impact on the system
A single Ethernet port service is interrupted.
Possible causes
- Cause 1: Service configuration error.
- Cause 2: Failure of optical fiber, network cable, optical/electrical module.
- Cause 3: Optical module mismatch.
- Cause 4: Single board failure.
Tools, meters and materials
- T2000
Operation Steps
- Cause 1: Service configuration error, resulting in service interruption.
- Query the service configuration of the single board on the T2000.
If ...... then ...... the service configuration is incorrect. Reconfigure the business. Check to see if the business is back to normal, if not, continue to the next step. The business is configured correctly. Continue to the next step.
- Query the T2000 to see if loopback is set up on the single board.
If ...... then ...... loopback is set. Clear the loopback. Check if the service is back to normal, if not, continue to the next step. No loopback is set. Continue to the next step.
- Query the single board port properties on the T2000.
If ...... then ...... the port properties are incorrect. Reset the port attributes (including the enable state of the port, TAG attributes, and so on). Check if the service is back to normal, if not, continue to the next step. Port properties are correct. Continue to the next step.
- Query the T2000 to see if the local port operating mode setting is the same as that of the other end.
If ...... then ...... the port working mode setting is not consistent with that of the opposite end. Reset the port working mode of this end and keep it consistent with the opposite end. Check whether the service is back to normal, if not, turn to other reasons. The port working mode setting is consistent with that of the other end. Refer to other reasons.
- Query the service configuration of the single board on the T2000.
- Cause 2: Failure of optical fiber, network cable, optical/electrical module, resulting in service interruption.
- Check the current alarms on the T2000.
If ...... then ...... the network element reports the ETH_LOS, Link_ERR alarm. See Alarm Reference for handling ETH_LOS, Link_ERR alarms. Check if the service is back to normal, if not, turn to other causes. The network element did not report the ETH_LOS, Link_ERR alarm. Transfer to other causes.
- Check the current alarms on the T2000.
- Cause 3: The optical module does not match, resulting in service interruption.
- Query the current alarm on the T2000.
If ...... then ...... the network element reports the optical module mismatch alarm LASER_MOD_ERR alarm. Refer to the Alarm Reference to handle the LASER_MOD_ERR alarm.
Check whether the service returns to normal, if not, turn to other reasons.
The network element did not report the optical module mismatch alarm LASER_MOD_ERR alarm. Refer to other causes.
- Query the current alarm on the T2000.
- Cause 4: A single board failure causes a business interruption.
- Query the Ethernet port data of the Ethernet single board through the RMON (Remote Monitoring) function on the T2000.
If ...... then ...... the Ethernet port is receiving data and not sending data. Refer to Parts Replacement to replace the faulty veneer. Check whether the service is back to normal, if not, turn to other causes. The Ethernet port has received data and sent data. Refer to other causes.
- Query the Ethernet port data of the Ethernet single board through the RMON (Remote Monitoring) function on the T2000.
